11th September 2005

The organising committee are proud to announce that SNAP Dances will continue in Bedford. After the closure of The Mission the future was looking bleak for teenage club night in the town.

A deal has been struck with New York, New York which will see SNAP Dances continue on a regular basis, and with several improvements. We will be linking with UK Club Culture a network of teenage dance nights held across the Country, which should ensure that we get regular special guests and promotions. Another facility that will benefit many is the ability to book online, this means a guaranteed E-ticket and no need to make an extra journey.

We are also moving away from the need to bring additional spending money, to reduce the chances of bullying. The admission price will cover the cloakroom and all soft drinks consumed.

Parents should note that there will be no dropping off or picking up outside the club, this should be done in De Parys Avenue. All other published rules remain the same.

18th February 2005

Since it's conception in Bedford some five years ago, SNAP has always had one main organiser PC Pierre Shotbolt. Due to a change in Police duties Pierre has decided to retire from organising SNAP Dance events. A special presentation was made to him at this weeks dance in recognition of the hard work he has done for the areas teenagers. SNAP's organisers and I'm sure all the young people that have attended SNAP events wish him well for his future away from SNAP.

Pierre's work will be taken on by the already established organising committee, with the Police role being led by PC Mark Everett. Police involvement at SNAP Dance events will not change.

21st April 2004

Once again this months SNAP Dance was a total sell out! The need to pre-buy tickets in advance is obvious. We understand that this can be difficult for some who don't live locally and are looking at alternative ways of buying tickets including online purchase.

18th February 2004

Yesterday saw our biggest ever SNAP at the Mission and the best attended SNAP event for many years. 1000 young people came and partied the night away. Unfortunately many were disappointed because they could not gain admission, because all tickets were sold. Our advice is buy your tickets before the night of the event and arrive by 6.30pm to avoid the rush.

At the end of the Valentine dance, there were flyers given out outside about another event in Bedford, please be aware that these events are in no way connected to SNAP Dance, nor are they endorsed in any way by any of the SNAP organisers.

We continually update our rules to make the events run smother for those attending, parents and ourselves. You should therefore be aware of the following points that are valid from April's dance:

  • No hooded garments of any kind will be admitted into the club. If you are wearing one you will not get in. You will not be allowed to tuck the hoods in or to put them into the cloakroom. Hoods = No Entry, No Exceptions!

  • Searches will be carried out by door staff on everyone entering the event.

  • All reserved tickets must be collected by 6.00pm, otherwise the tickets will be re-allocated. The last time for entry is 8.30, this includes ticket holders.

6th January 2004

The last two SNAP Dance's have seen numbers increase to over 800 at each event. This is encouraging and will insure that SNAP Dance's continue. The larger the number of people through the door the more choice of entertainment we can provide.

2nd October 2003

SNAP Dance's at the Mission are proving to be a success although increased numbers are needed if they are to continue. Traditionally the Summer months have lower numbers, so hopefully things will improve during the Autumn.

24th July 2003

The first SNAP Dance held at the Mission is a big success with well over 400 young people through the door! The next event is planned for August.

Bedford SNAP Dance is run in conjunction with the above organisations,
it is not connected with any other teenage dance events in the Bedford area, nor does it endorse them.
